A proposito di questo album

  • Pubblicato: 11/set/2006
The Dreamer's Paradox is the second album by JT Bruce. It shows a strong maturation and development of the style and tone achieved by Anomalous Material, resulting in increased production quality, compositional strength, and diversity. Fans of Anomalous Material will undoubtedly enjoy this release, but the album's depth and scope will also appeal to a much wider audience of varying musical tastes. Backing vocals are featured in one track and spoken words in another.

Being a concept album, the Dreamer's Paradox prominently features recurring musical themes, acting as characters in a musical drama. The evolving and subtle themes interact with one another and are revisited throughout the album's length, creating the progress and mood akin to the telling of a story.

The albums total running time is 74 minutes 22 seconds.

Great, Great. I used the track "The Verge of illusory Twilight" in the video of my holidays (see link) Thank you JT Bruce.

This is wonderful stuff. An outstanding job on the programming of the various the drums and assorted synths and orchestral instruments. And the compositions are very complex, but still executed with great feel. From dark modes to romantic notions to full blown metalic psychedelia, there's a surprise around every corner, and sometimes that surprise is a recent aqcuaintance. The sound is just a tad on the sterile side, but that's just because of the drumsound. There's nothing that can beat (pun intended) the sound of a real acoustic drum kit, but it's a pain to get a kit, a drummer, record drums and then there's the mixing... Actually the drums sound brilliant for what they are. (If I'm wrong about the drums being programmed and not played by a drummer, I'll gladly go and digg a very deep hole and jump in it.) The guitars soar, dive, paint, weave, slip, stich and pass. It's no mean feat to pull off something like "The Dreamer's Paradox". So I say "kudos" with the original meaning of the greek word: magical glory.

Not a demo. Not the "music for hobby" you can expect in places where everyone (me included) tries to play the "superstar" part just for fun. Here's an artist. Here's his music, stuff that needs to be called music. Everything is in this album: a good production, all the instrument excellently well played, the "concept album" (a thing I've always loved, and a thing truly difficult to make), some good songs and someothers truly stunning since the first "overture". The question is simple and it's the same old question, or better, the same old paradox: why this is it here and not spinning in a radio, in everyone's iPod while some others more famous and less "artists" are on tv ? Spread the world about this "dreamer's paradox" and the art in it: it's totally the right thing to do !

Dynamic and enjoyable. This whole album comes together and works as a whole. This type of album keeps me having faith in independent music. And the last track...f***ing mind blowingly crazy.
